Snubbed by Emmy! Jeremy Piven, star of HBO's Entourage, wasn't nominated this year in the category that he's won the last three years: Best Supporting Comedy Actor. He'll be missing from tonight's Emmy stage, but TIME has the Piven interview you'll want to hear - a conversation about mercury poisoning, big-screen comedy, and Ari Gold's turbulent-yet-touching relationship with Lloyd.

The First 100 Days: Presidential News Conference

CNN marked President Barack Obama's 100th day in office with prime-time coverage that recalled last year's primary and general election nights, right down to John King's magic wall. The network compiled a national report card of Obama's performance, using opinion polls and a series of viewer surveys.

The big night was April 29, pre-empting regular programming from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. EDT.

Most of the anchors and commentators who were CNN regulars on political nights last year appeared.

The 100-day marker is a journalistic contrivance often used to evaluate new administrations. CNN gave extra importance to this one because of the two wars and economic meltdown.

TIME's Karen Tumulty was here live, bringing you up-to-the-minute coverage on this event.

Election Day

Barack Obama Elected President With Mandate for Change

When historians look back at the 2008 presidential landslide, they won't focus on the fact that Barack Obama — soon to be our 44th President and our first African American commander-in-chief — ran a smart and steady campaign. They won't focus on William Ayers or Joe the Plumber or socialism or racism. They won't debate whether John McCain blew it by targeting Pennsylvania or avoiding the press or ignoring the Rev. Jeremiah Wright or picking Sarah Palin. They won't remember the robocalls or "cling" or the Paris Hilton ad or the crazy chick who carved the B into her face. The pundits filling airtime on their 24-hour news channels might have cared, but posterity won't.

The Vice Presidential Debate

All times listed below are EST.

10:45 PM - MG - Overall: I thought Biden seemed knowledgable and intelligent and passionate and a bit mouthy, which, it just so happens, is pretty much what Joe Biden is. I thought Palin seemed like someone who knew basic Republican talking points--not just because she's crammed, but because she's part of a generation of a Republican politicians trained in basic Republican talking points--but not much more than that. And she did a perfectly good job of emphasizing some of the basic differences between the two tickets on Iraq. What I don't know is whether Average Americans will think she sounded like an Average American, and whether they would consider that a good thing. She did say "doggone it," so I guess that makes her folksy. We do seem to want our pilots to sound folksy--otherwise why would they all use that same Chuck Yeager accent?--so maybe we want our Vice Presidents to sound folksy too. But most of all, I hope that 7-year-old girl doesn't drop the baby.
